See a
Relict Leopard Frog
View Original Description
Long thought to be extinct (or very near it), small surviving populations of the Relict Leopard Frog have been found--phew!--making it a minor success story for the area, but still highly vulnerable.
Once making their homes in isolated springs, creeks, reservoirs and recreation sites across Nevada and parts of Utah, most Relict Leopard Frogs can now only be found in small populations in northwestern Arizona along the Virgin River down to the Overton arm of Lake Mead. Some have also been spotted where springs enter the Colorado River in Black Canyon. If you spot a Relict Leopard Frog, be sure to take care and admire from a safe distance. These little guys need every frog they can get.
