Visit Attu Battlefield and U.S. Army and Navy Airfields National Historic Landmark, Attu Island, Alaska
The Battle of Attu was the second deadliest battle in the Pacific Theater, just behind Iwo Jima. A titanium monument on the crest of Engineer Hill honors all those who died in the Aleutian Campaign.
Constructed by the government of Japan in cooperation with the government of the United States of America on 1 July 1987.
