Lake Omedeo was originally created by the old dam that was inaugurated in 1924. In 1997 a new dam was inaugurated and the water levels raided, which caused the old house of the Santa Chiara Dam Power Plant Manager, Ula Tirso to go under water. It was a beautiful two-story villa surrounded by a garden with a pond, an orchard, palm trees, and a banana tree.
Much of the year the building is almost completely covered by water. Every now and then, when the water level drops, the past resurfaces.
