U.S. Route 50 is a "non-Interstate" U.S. Highway that crosses the U.S. from California (West Sacramento) to Maryland (Ocean City). It crosses many deserts, great cities, and many small towns. The stretch in Nevada is known as "The Loneliest Road in America" after a July 1986 Life magazine article. Many points of interest are on or very near US 50.
