The Stylized Flower is a nickname for the untitled Dutch artwork at the entrance of the Bijenkorf in Rotterdam , designed by Naum Gabo. It is seen as the most important work in his oeuvre. Colloquially, the sculpture is called "the thing".
The statue that was erected in May 1957 in front of the new building of De Bijenkorf is a special creation in steel. The builder was the Constructiewerkplaats en Machinefabriek Hollandia NV in Krimpen aan den IJssel. The work is part of the Top 100 Dutch monuments 1940-1958.
