Eternal Flame Falls, New York
View Original Description
The Eternal Flame Falls is a small waterfall located near Buffalo, New York in the Shale Creek Preserve, a section of the Chestnut Ridge Park.
A small grotto at the waterfall's base emits natural gas, which can be lit to produce a small flame. This flame is visible nearly year round.
The flame is one of a few hundred "natural" eternal flames around the world, fed by gas seeping to the Earth's surface from underground.
