Eye of The Needle Arch, Echo Canyon, Death Valley, California
View Original Description
Within Echo Canyon's narrows is the Eye of the Needle, a natural arch. It's located at about the 4.8 mile mark. It was formed by erosion of steeply dipping limestone beds of the Cambrian Bonanza King Formation.
A high-clearance vehicle is needed for the first 3 miles and then 4x4 is required. The road tends to have deep gravel and is quite rocky 3 miles from the highway.
