Hike to Florence Falls, Litchfield National Park, Northern Territory, Australia

Spectacular double waterfall set amid the monsoon forest cascades into a swimming hole. The lookout proves a panoramic view. Florence Falls are located in the Litchfield National Park in the Northern Territory of Australia. The falls are located near the northern boundary of the park via a good road. A sign post at Florence Falls mentions two walks for hiking. The 'Shady Creek Walk' is graded easy with a distance of 1.2 km return. The 'Florence Creek Walk' is also graded easy with a distance of 3.2 km return. The Florence Falls plunge pool is listed as "great for a refreshing swim" besides the usual safety warnings. 160 step staircase down to the swimming area, there is also a viewing platform at the top of the Falls if you do not wish to swim. Florence Falls is 2WD accessible. Camping is available with toilet and shower facilities.
