Hike to Hafragilsfoss Waterfall, Iceland

Hafragilsfoss is a waterfall in Iceland in the Jökulsárgljúfur National Park. The waterfall flows downstream from Dettifoss within the depths of the Jökulságljúfur canyon. This waterfall is also on the glacial river Jökulsá á Fjöllum, making it a powerful waterfall. The falls are visible from both sides of the river. The waterfall has a single drop of 27 meters (89 feet) and has an average width of 91 meters (300 feet). There are trailheads on both sides of the canyon. The East side is best for viewing and photos. There is limited capacity of the parking area. A telephoto lens is recommended if you want to take a close-up photo, since it is not advisable to hike down to the canyon. Getting close to it is pretty tricky, as the slopes are steep on the west side pretty steak and the east side is not easy either, but the waterfall is viewable from the observation point on the cliff edges.
