Hike to Hanakapi'ai Falls, Kauai, Hawaii

NOTE: Non-Hawaii residents are required to purchase Park Entry Reservations ($5 per person) AND a Parking Reservation ($10 per vehicle) prior to arrival at Hāʻena SP (In-order to access the Nāpali Coast State Wilderness Park as well as the Kalalau Trail, visitors have to go through Hāʻena SP). Camping Permits are available 90-days in-advance. Entry reservations will be required for everyone in the vehicle. Parking reservations are only good for the time slots indicated during purchase. If you want to park for longer than one time slot, you need to purchase additional reservations. For example, if you want to be at the park from opening until closing (sunset), you’ll need to purchase all three time slots. Not all time slots may be available on a given date. Be prepared to present a valid parking voucher (print or digital) upon arrival.Day-use Parking and Entry Reservations are available 30-days in advance.Overnight parking at Haʻena SP is only allowed for those with valid overnight camping permits for Kalalau. Permits for Miloliʻi and any other location other than Kalalau will not be honored. Hanakapi'ai Falls is an approximately 300 feet (91 m) highwaterfall located in Hawaii on the Na Pali side of the island of Kauai. It requires a hike of approximately 2 miles from Hanakapi'ai Beach (4 miles from trailhead at Kee Beach). The waterfall is described as "gorgeous but challenging". The trail is unmaintained and is a popular day-hike for able-bodied hikers.
