See Humpback Whales in Cook Islands
Whale Watching in the Cook Islands can be done on a boat or even from shore. The Humpback whales migrate north into the South Pacific waters from their summer feeding grounds of Australia and New Zealand and the cool Antarctic Ocean. The whales visit the Cook Islands for around 4 months of from July right through to October. The western side of Rarotonga is the best bet to spotting whales with Black Rock being a great vantage point.
