See Maria Eleanor Whallon Grave, The Oasis of Mara, California
Maria Eleanor Whallon grave is located along the Oasis of Mara Trail, on the grounds of the Oasis Visitor Center for Joshua Tree National Park in Twentynine Palms, California. Maria suffered from tuberculosis and was hoping that the desert climate would improve her health. She and her mother were traveling to the Eaton Mine, where her mother would be working as camp cook, but Maria died before they reached their destination.
