See Misión Santa Rosalía de Mulegé, Baja California, Mexico

Located just up a small hill from the center of town, this was the fourth mission established in California. The beautiful stone mission (the church standing was built in 1766) is a handsome example of a well-preserved mission, and the site here offers some of the best views in town. Mission Santa Rosalía de Mulegé was founded in 1705 by the Jesuit missionary Juan Manuel de Basaldúa at a ranchería of the local Cochimí which was known as Mulegé, in Baja California Sur, Mexico. The site lies near the entrance of Bahía de Concepción, on the Gulf of California coast.
