See Monumento a la Virgen del Socavon, Oruro, Bolivia

The Monument to the Virgin of Socavón or Virgin of Candelaria is a monument located on Santa Bárbara Hill, west of the highland city of Oruro in Bolivia. The sculpture was inaugurated on February 1, 2013 and is located 3,845 meters above sea level, and is one of the tallest and most modern monuments in the world. The sculpture measures 45.4 metres in total, of which 8.60 metres are for the base, which will house a chapel with capacity for 80 people. The Virgin's crown was made of aluminium plates, with an internal structure of reticulated iron for greater resistance to corrosion. It weighs 500 kilos, is 4.80 metres high and 4 metres in diameter. It has crystal inlays made of resin to obtain a replica suitable for the image found in the Sanctuary. At the top there is a lightning rod and security lighting, so it can be seen from airplanes or helicopters.
