See Old Spanish Trail Zero Milestone, St. Augustine, Florida

This coquina (soft limestone containing shell and coral fragments quarried locally on Anastasia Island) sphere marks the start of the Old Spanish Trail linking the Spanish missions between St. Augustine and Pensacola on the Florida panhandle. This is also the eastern terminus of the first transcontinental highway across the United States which connected to San Diego in the west.
