Hoiho (Yellow-Eyed) Penguins in New Zealand

The rare hoiho, or yellow-eyed penguin, can be spotted by its vivid yellow eye band. You’ll find them on the Otago Peninsula, just south of Dunedin and round the Catlins region.
The Otago Peninsula together with its 20 km long harbour, is the home of an abundance of magnificent world famous marine wildlife, namely The Royal Albatross, the endangered Yellow Eyed Penguin/Hoiho and the Blue Penguins, Pukekura.
