See Portal Down to Old New York (Lovelace Tavern), NYC, New York

When strolling through New York's Finanial District make sure to make a stop along Pearl Street to see the 1667 remains of the Lovelace Tavern. Set into the pavement under glass at the pedestrian plaza that curves around 85 Broad Street, are the visible remnants of colonial-era New York. The 1975 excavation uncovered some of the only physical relics of the old Dutch colony left in Manhattan. The original foundation walls of the former bar can be seen through a glass window in the sidewalk.
