Hike to Rainbow Falls (Devils Postpile), Devils Postpile National Monument, California
The 101-foot high Rainbow Falls at Devils Postpile National Monument in California is a waterfall on the Middle Fork of the San Joaquin River. From the Ranger Station, hike a rolling, mostly downhill, 1.5 mile one way hike to Rainbow Falls. To get to the base of the falls take the staircase to the pool at the bottom of the falls. Swimming is discouraged and is considered very dangerous.
This hike can be hot and dry in the summer, so bring plenty of water.
