Red Hill Cinder Cone (Saltlake Cindercone) is a striking volcanic cinder cone located near Little Lake, California. It's a prominent feature in the area, showcasing the geological history of the Mojave Desert and the power of past volcanic activity. The area is known for its dramatic landscapes, including the Fantastic Lava Beds and Painted Dunes, which are also associated with the cinder cone's eruptions.
It last erupted in 1666. Access to the crater is on the west side. There is a dirt road from US 395 to get up close.
The red cinder cone called "Red Hill" is located off US 395 on Cinder Road, on the same dirt road to Fossil Falls.
