See Reno Airmail Arrow, Reno, Nevada

Reno Airmail Arrow is a fifty-foot long concrete arrow in the hills west of Reno pointing east toward the city and the airport. It was installed in the 1920s to assist USPS Airmail pilots who navigated by landmarks. It is accessible by hiking or riding along the Steamboat Ditch about 4¾ miles from Woodchuck Circle, up the hill past Hole in the Wall. Here is a GPS track of the route out and back.
