A forest of subalpine fir, mountain hemlock, and bear grass surround Scott Lake and make a picturesque setting for stunning views of the Three Sisters on clear days. Access to Mt. Washington Wilderness is in close proximity. There is potential for heavy mosquitoes in July.
Scott Lake is at 4800 feet elevation, and accessible only from July to October, depending on snowfall. The lake itself is three smaller lakes connected by narrow channels. The lake is clear and shallow with a mean depth of 3.5 feet. Fishing is for cutthroat trout.
