Amonumentwas erected in 1934 to commemorate the meeting place betweenChief Te Huruhuruand Michael Studholme. It can be seen on the corner of Queen Street and Hakataramea Highway (Gorge Rd). It was officially opened by Joseph ThomasTe Huruhuru(grandson) and E.C. Studholme (son).
