The Superstition Mountain Cougar Shadow is a natural phenomenon that occurs twice a year on the western face of the Superstition Mountains, near Apache Junction.
Viable during the third week of March and September, around the equinoxes when day and night are roughly equal in length. Last about 30 minutes before sunset, between 5:30 and 6:00 PM.
Good viewing point is Near 13th Avenue and Goldfield Road in Apache Junction.
