Svjetionik Jadrija (Cape Jadrija lighthouse), Šibenik, Crostia
View Original Description
The Cape Jadrija lighthouse is a lighthouse on the left side of the Sv. Ante , which leads to Šibenik port.
It was built in 1871 on the former island of St. Andrije (according to the church of the same name, whose foundations are located in the immediate vicinity of the lighthouse building). The building consists of two parts, the original one with an L-shaped floor plan, and a rectangular annex that violated the original floor plan concept of the building, forming an incomplete U-shaped floor plan. The original part was built of properly hewn stone blocks. An octagonal three-story tower ending in a stone plinth with a profiled cornice and a metal lantern with light is integrated with part of the walls in the center of the southeast facade of the original part of the lighthouse building, and the lantern slightly overhangs the roof of the lighthouse.
