Tesla Radio Stained Glass, Prague, Czechia
View Original Description
A stained glass window in the Cinema Svetozor (Kino Světozor) shopping arcade, advertising TESLA radio (which no longer exists). The cinema has large & small screens showing artistic Czech & global movies, plus an on-site cafe/bar.
TESLA electronics was a national monopoly that operated during the communist era. The company was named after the Serbian-American inventor Nikola Tesla, but due to communist-era politics, it was decided that TESLA was an abbreviation of "TEchnika SLAboproudá" (low-voltage technology).
