See The Metal Man (Newtown Cove), Ireland

The Metal man was built to ward of ships from the dangerous harbour of Tamore it has three pillars the middle one having a metal statue of a man pointing to safty. The "Metal Man" was erected after the dreadful tragedy on the morning of 30 January 1816 when the HMS Seahorse which with over 360 people on board went down in Tramore Bay
