Benagil Sea Caves, Algarve, Portugal
View Original Description
Benagil is a small Portuguese village on the Atlantic Ocean in the concelho of Lagoa and the Freguesia of Carvoeiro (Lagoa).
Up to the late 20th century, the village's economy was based on ocean fishing. Now it is a tourist area with a widely used beach, Praia de Benagil. In Benagil Beach you can rent a boat to access the caves and isolated beaches in this area.
The parking is very limited and can be found on the road on either side of the very steep valley that leads down to the main beach.
Benagil is 21 miles by road from Lagos.
