See The Volcano House, Newberry Springs, California
The Volcano House is north of Route 66 in Newberry Springs. This galactic-looking saucer house is poised atop a 150-foot cinder cone. It's a cool architectural landmark and surrounding property, but it is closed to the public.
It was previously owned by television host Huell Howser and designed by architect Harold James Bissner Jr.
