See Walther von Knebel and Max Rudloff Memorial, Öskjuvatn Lake, Iceland
In 1907 two German researchers, Walther von Knebel and Max Rudloff, had an accident on the Öskjuvatn on an expedition. In search of the casualties, Knebels' fiancée Ina von Grumbkow undertook two expedition trips over the next few years and recorded her perceptions in the book "Ísafold - Travel Pictures from Iceland".
