Sperm Whales off Dominica

Dominica is known as the "Whale Watching Capital of the Caribbean". Most notably a group of sperm whales live in this area year round. Other whales include killer whales, false killer whales, pygmy sperm whales, dwarf sperm whales, humpback whales and Bryde's whales.
The island recently established the world's first sperm whale reserve, a protected marine area designed to safeguard its resident giants.
Dolphins commonly seen in the area include Risso's dolphins, Atlantic spotted dolphins, spinner dolphins, pantropical spotted dolphins and bottlenose dolphins.
