See Zebra Rock at Lake Argyle, Western Australia, Australia

Lake Argyle is famous for its unique Zebra Rock, a banded, sedimentary stone found nowhere else on Earth, valued by collectors for its intricate patterns formed by iron-rich fluids over 600 million years ago, with the area also featuring quartzite, sandstone, and ancient Ord River Basin geology, including diamond deposits.   Formed from mud in an ancient wetland, its distinctive patterns are created by chemistry, recording a time before complex animals.
