The Rialto Market in Venice is located near the landmark Rialto Bridge. This busy daily market is in the commercial center of the city alongside the Grand Canal.
The market has grown over the centuries, both as a retail and as a wholesale market. Warehouses were built, including the famous Fondaco dei Tedeschi on the other side of the bridge.
There is a daily Erberia greengrocery market, and the fish market on the Campo della Pescheria - where a huge variety of just-landed Adriatic seafood awaits buyers Tuesdays to Saturdays, who include many of the city's top chefs and restaurateurs. Come early – before 9am – for the best selection.
