Ski or Snowboard Arêches-Beaufort, France
It's known for its cheese, but Beaufort also has reliable powder and access to three great ski areas without the lines, crowds or high prices of resorts just over the hill. Situated in the snow-loaded shadow of Mont Blanc, the area only has a few restaurants and shops here, and little in the way of après action. But it has access to three separate ski areas: Arêches-Beaufort, Les Contamines and Les Saisies.
