Ski or Snowboard Tiffendell Ski Resort, South Africa
Tiffendell Ski Resort in South Africa's Eastern Cape Highlands in the Drakensberg Mountains offers a relatively ski season running between June and August (sometimes September), the Southern Hemisphere winter.
Runs aren't long at about a kilometer in total, but there is real snow and when there isn't enough falling from the sky they have snow-making equipment.
Tiffindell Ski Resort began in 1993 and is a fully equipped ski and snowboard resort with state of the art snowmaking and grooming equipment, ski lifts, restaurant, ski shop, ski school, conference facility and accommodation for over 150 guests.
Tiffindell is situated 24 km north to the town of Rhodes and about 212 km east of Aliwal North. 2WD, 1300cc vehicles with no trailers, can reach the resort in dry conditions only via the route from Rhodes.
