Ski or Snowboard Los Penitentes, Argentina
Los Penitentes is a mid-sized ski resort in Argentina that is on international highway Ruta 7 between Santiago in Chile and Mendoza. The resort sits at the foot of Mount Aconcagua and is 183km west of Mendoza and only 25km from the Chile border.
The resort has 25 runs of different lengths and drops for beginner, advanced and expert skiers. The season ranges from mid-June to late August.
The resort is good to place to stop for a day or two of skiing or snowboarding if driving between Las Lenas and Portillo.
In winter, the average temperature is about 1 °C, ranging between −4° and 7 °C. The weather is dry and sunny on most days.
