Snorkel off
Olowalu Beach, Maui, Hawaii
View Original Description
Olowalu is a beach and small town on the west side of the island of Maui. It is located about 4 miles (6.4 km) south of Lahaina on the Honoapiʻilani Highway. The area is home to one of Hawaii's most unique reefs.
The sheltered reef features large coral heads that are estimated to be hundreds of years old, as well as a raremanta ray cleaning station and Blacktip reef shark nursery. The water remains shallow far offshore, and there's plenty to see.
