Spa at InterContinental Moorea Resort & Spa, French Polynesia

The French Polynesian islands are the epitome of a tropical getaway offering just the right balance of aqua blue oceans, white sand beaches, and flora all against a lush mountain backdrop. The InterContinental Moorea Resort and Spa is a beautiful retreat located on 27 acres of gardens and is home to the Moorea Dolphin Centre where guests can swim with dolphins and Bathys Diving Club. It’s no wonder that the first spa in Polynesia was opened at the resort. The Hélène Spa offers the perfect blend of French and Polynesian traditions in a setting that’s reminiscent of both cultures. The spa has recently received a Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Spa Award. Part of the spas beauty can be attributed to how well it’s integrated into its environment. A few treatments actually take place outside such as the fresh flower bath. The therapies are designed to relax, purify, and regenerate its guests. There are typical spa services such as massage and facials available, however, to truly have a Hélène experience opt for a ritual. For example, the Mahana is a balance ritual that includes a river bath, a papaya scrub, a body wrap using Polynesian Sacred Tamanu balm, followed by a rain shower, and concludes with a massage. That’s a rare and special spa experience. Spa Hours: Open daily from 10am to 6pm.
