One of the high-end Orient-Express hotels, the Maroma Resort on the Mayan Rivera in Mexico offers a one of a kind experience. The resort is on Maroma beach, which typically has ideal conditions. The soft sand rarely gets too hot and crystal blue waters are always inviting. Maroma is more than just another tropical paradise with 5-star service. It takes great pride in its Mayan location as is evident in the design of the spa and the treatments offered. The name of the spa, Kinan, means “the healing energy of the sun” in Mayan. Everything about the spa is focused on offering guests a way to achieve for positive energy flow. Even the 10 treatment rooms and eight spa suites were built to be aligned with the stars. All the rooms are named after a different god or goddess. There are three methods of treatment available: Wellness (yoga, Tai Chi, and meditation) Kinan Med Spa (medical treatments such as Botox), and spa (facials, mud wraps, and massage). There are a few signature treatments, but the Kinan Ritual embodies what the spa is all about. It includes a body wrap, exfoliation, and finishes with a four hand massage. Those visiting the spa should visit the Temazcal, which is a bit like a sweat lodge with heated volcanic rocks. Spa Hours:Daily 9am to 8pm. Fitness Center:Daily 6am to 10pm.
