Spa/Golf at
Sandy Lane Resort, Barbados
View Original Description
In 1961, the Sandy Lane Beach Resort opened on a former sugar cane plantation. Even before it underwent a three-year renovation and reopened its doors in 2000, the resort was the epitome of luxury with well-known celebrities and personalities staying there while vacationing in Barbados. The redesigned hotel is as relaxing as it is elegant with just 112 guestrooms and suites. Other amenities include two golf courses designed by Tom Fazio and a state-of-the-art spa. It’s no wonder it is a Five Diamond destination.
The 47,000 square-foot spa facility includes a café, a John Frieda Salon, 2,500 square-foot gym, meditation room, relaxation room, a sumptuous pool, sauna, hydrotherapy pool, cold room, Jacuzzi, warm and cold showers, and 11 treatment suites each with a private garden or hydrotherapy pool. There is also a Rhassoul (an oriental steam bath), which when its not being used as a steam room is available for a clay body treatment that helps release toxins and hydrates the skin. With all of these amenities, guest should be sure to arrive early to get the full experience. Other services available include massage, Reiki, body wraps, shiatsu, facials, and hot stone treatments. Regardless of the treatment selected, guests will inevitably leave the spa relaxed and rejuvenated.
