In the heart of Paris’ couture district just doors away from the famous fashion houses is another design landmark, the Plaza Athénée hotel on the Avenue Montaigne. It’s no surprise that when the hotel decided to add a spa to its list of amenities that they worked with one of its famous patrons, designer Christian Dior who frequently had lunch at the hotel. In 2008, the Spa at the Dior Institut opened its doors. The décor of the spa is classic Dior: elegant, luxurious, and clean lines. The linens on the heated beds in the treatment rooms are classic gray and white. There is even a marble floor (covered with glass) designed by Patrick Ribes. While waiting for treatments guests are welcome to watch fashion shows on big screens. This is no ordinary spa: design, fashion, and beauty are evident everywhere. The Spa at the Dior Institut offers services for both men and women. There are five treatment rooms available and guests are welcome to use the spa’s sauna, steam baths, and the fitness center at thePlazaAthénée. Men can enjoy massages (ranging from 60 minutes to 2 hours), facials, and 75’ body or face treatments that as the name suggest last 75 minutes. While women can enjoy a variety of skincare options that target eye rejuvenation and anti-aging therapies as well as massages and body wraps. The signature treatment is theL’OR DE VIE, the Grand Ritual. Lasting 120 minutes and costing well over 400 Euros, this is one of the more expensive and luxurious facials available in the world. Upon stepping out of the treatment rooms, guests are greeted with champagne and chocolate completing this simply indulgent and unforgettable spa experience. Spa Hours: Open daily from 9am to 9pm; the last appointment is at 7:45pm. PlazaAthénée Fitness Center: Open daily 7am to 10pm.
