Stay at
C&O Canal Lockhouse, Maryland
View Original Description
The C&O Canal Trust, the official nonprofit partner of the C&O Canal National Historical Park, makes six restored lockhouses available for overnight stays. Known as "Canal Quarters," this popular program allows guests to experience what life was like during different eras in the Canal's long history. For example: lockhouse 6 is themed to the period of the 1950s when Justice Douglas made his famous walk; lockhouse 10 transports visitors back to the time of the CCC in the 1930s; and lockhouse 25 tells the story of when the Army of the Potomac crossed over the Canal on their way to Gettysburg.
