Stay at Pororari Hut, Paparoa Track, New Zealand
This is a 20-bunk Great Walk hut on the Paparoa Track.
Perched high above the ancient native bush, Pororari Hut boasts stunning 360 degree views including the Lone Hand and out to the Tasman sea.
A hut ranger is based at the hut in the summer. As well as checking bookings, they are able to provide information about the track and weather.
If you are lucky enough to see kea, please don’t feed them.
All huts on the Paparoa Track have:
heating
long drop toilets supplied with toilet paper, and
cold running water.
The huts have:
gas cooking facilities,
sinks with cold running water inside the hut, and
mattresses on the bunks.
You'll need to bring your own cooking equipment and sleeping bag as these are not supplied. For example, billy, bowl, utensils.
There are no showers in any of the huts.
