On a working farm, this innovative motel is off State Highway 3 and 2 km from Waitomo Glowworm Caves. Hobbit-style 2-bedroom apartments include straightforward decor and circular windows. There's a simple 1918-built train carriage with 2 bedrooms. A Vietnam fighter plane offers a unit with a kids’ cockpit sleeping booth, plus a tail section with bunk beds. Some of the rooms in a 1942 WWII patrol boat have elegant details and TVs; suites add living areas and balconies. There’s a 3-level apartment offering a living/dining room and a private deck.
