Stroll Angel Place (Forgotten Songs), Sydney, New South Wales
A rather unique street where you will hear unexpected chorus of chirping birds and look up to see 120 or so empty birdcages overhead. Artist Michael Thomas Hill created the installation in 2009 as a statement to draw attention to how development was pushing out wildlife. The soundtrack changes throughout the day, reflecting the sounds of the 50 or so bird species that were once present here.
