Hamacho Park has a playground, athletic center, day camp ground (which requires reservation) and more, serving as a place of exercising and relaxing for local citizens. There are Someiyoshino cherry trees, Benishidare cherry trees and cherry trees that bear fruit transplanted from Higashine City, Yamagata Prefecture. In June, hydrangeas are in bloom. In autumn, the leaves of the gingko trees on the promenade in front of the Meijiza theater turn yellow.
