Ice Climb Mount Gilbert, Aspendell, California
The excellent North Couloir route, Mt. Gilbert features one of the finest ice climbs in the High Sierra. This 900, '65 degree gully of ice is visible from the South Lake parking lot. The elevation is ranked III, 5.6, AI2 or WI3. This is a "must do "classic range climb for the High Sierra ice climber!
Best climbing months are June - September or October. Access is easy to Mt. Gilbert, making this a good winter objective also.
