Surf Topanga Beach, Malibu, California
Topanga Beach is the closest Malibu California beach to Los Angeles. The Eastern Malibu coast faces south and Topanga Beach is at the east end next to the Pacific Palisades neighborhood. Due to the shape of the beach it is popular with surfers. Waves wrap around the sandy point formed by Topanga Creek creating a continuous right break. A lagoon forms where the creek backs up behind the sandy beach. At the west end of the beach is a rotting old steel barrier in the surf. Except at high tide the public beach on the other side is a nice walking route.
