Swim at St. Francis of Assisi Church (Heerlen Holy Water), Heerlen, Netherlands
A major project underway in the Netherlands to transform the decommissioned St. Francis of Assisi Church in Heerlen into a public swimming pool and community hub, playfully nicknamed "Holy Water," featuring a movable floor that lets people swim or walk on water, preserving historic elements like stained glass and pews.
The project (MVRDV/Zecc Architecten) is planned for completion around 2027.
