Take a Class at San Diego Civic Youth Ballet, Balboa Park, San Diego, California
The resident classical ballet school in Balboa Park, San Diego Civic Youth Ballet has held classes in the Casa del Prado since 1945. Instruction begins at age four and continues through the pre-professional level where students train in classical technique as well as pointe, variations and modern.
Young artists perform in as many as 4 major productions each year at the historic Casa del Prado Theatre, and all SDCYB productions feature professional costumes, lighting, direction and staging.
A family-friendly atmosphere and a repertoire that includes such classics as Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, A Midsummer Night’s Dream and The Nutcracker make SDCYB’s production season a cornerstone of family arts entertainment in San Diego.
Other SDCYB programs include Community Outreach, Artist Enrichment, and Alumni Engagement.
