Camino de Egeria is a 50km pilgrimage trail follows the path of a 4th-Century nun who journeyed through the Holy Land – centuries before Spain's famed Camino de Santiago. The Egeria Way (Camino de Egeria), is a part of the larger John the Baptist trail that starts in Rasas and finishing in Al-Maghatas (or Bethany beyond the Jordan), its a spiritual and historical journey, follows the path of Egeria, a 4th-century Spanish-Galician explorer and one of the first recorded female pilgrims.
The route of camino de Egeria follows the last two days of John the baprtis trail starting at mount Nebo and finishing at the baptism site passing by Moses' Spring and rama among a few other points.
The hike is typically split up into three days (though can be done in two, or a leisurely five).
